Puzzle Wreath Frame

Supplies: Old puzzle pieces; green paint; hot glue gun (to put pieces together); ribbon; a picture!

Start by finding the pieces with a square edge

Start by finding the straight edge pieces to give yourself a guidline. Make a rectangle on the "bottom layer". Pieces will just be placed there. It is the next layer that holds everything in place. A drop of hot glue on one side of two neighboring puzzle pieces, then place a new puzzle piece on top to cement the bond. This is what holds the wreath together.

Hot Glue top puzzle piece to 2 bottom onesGlue top layer of puzzle pieces to bottom layer so that they form a wreath that can be picked up. Now is the time to decide if this wreath will be hung from the tree for if it will, you need to make a hole where the pieces meet for the hanger or ribbon to go through in a later step.

Paint the puzzle pieces green Make sure you are working on newspaper or some surface that can get "dirty".

painted puzzle Paint all pieces solidly green. If the color isn't smooth, let dry and touch up a little, later.

Add sequins or paint Add green and red sequins. If you don't have those around, use red paint or pieces or red material cut into little circles. The idea is the color.

Puzzle wreath frame hanging Add a picture to the back of the frame. You can scotch tape it in. A nice finishing touch is a little ribbon. If you want to hang it from your tree, you'll need a piece of florists wire or longer ribbon.

Note: This is a good craft for small hands if you prepare the frame for them in advance. It could be a good craft for room moms to consider as well! Paint one day - Decorate another! Have parents send in a favorite picture! What a neat present!
