Santa Claus Door Decoration

Supplies: 1 bleach bottle; 2 skeins white yarn; 12 by 12 light pink felt; glue; 2 eyes (black felt, buttons, or googly eyes); Tool to make small holes in plastic bottle; 1/4 yard of red material; 3-4" white pom pom; 1 1/2" red pom pom; Wire

Step 1: Cut the bottle in half. Decide the size of face you want and make a circle with a pencil.

Step 2: Punch holes all around the circle.

Step 3: Cut the pink felt in a circle and glue to the bottle.

Step 4: Start inserting the white yarn, leaving 2 inches on the lower holes and 1 inch of yarn on the upper holes. String the yarn in and out of each hole,(this makes the beard) and the hair line..

Step 5: Add on the eyes and mouth. Make sure you have yarn going across for the mustache.

Step 6: Stretch a
piece of wire midway across the back so you can hang Santa up once completed. Attach the wire to each side nice and tight.

Step 7: Red hat. The red material forms the back of the decoration as well as the hat. Take the red felt and cover the back side of the bottle. Make a triangle hat that will crest at the top of the bottle and fall down to his nose. At the tip of the hat add on the large white pom pom.

STRANGE AS IT MAY SEEM...

Our Santa Claus decoration came from an Arts and Crafts festival in Pennsylvania where my inlaws live years ago when we first got married. Over the years it got dirty. I washed the yarn while on Santa!!! It came out as pretty as it was 25 years ago and I rehung it. Mabyn
