GIF or JPEG? Which should you use?

Each file format stores data in a unique manner. That is why no single file format can work across the board. For the web, you want the smaller files so your pages will load quickly. Depending on various factors you'll probably be happiest with either jpegs or gifs. if you are taking your artwork to a commercial printer, you need to work in CYMK and save to TIFF files. Work with those before you save down to the smaller web files.
